The new version of the PoligonSoft engineering analysis system (CAE) for casting processes, developed by 'CSoft Development', was released on October 2, 2023. A new preprocessor interface, new solvers, and a new level of performance are just some of the major innovations of PoligonSoft 2023.0.
Moreover, the meticulous and responsible approach of the developers to create the best casting technologies and produce high-quality castings.
Responding to user requests and current demands, the "CSoft Development" developer team has released the new version of their CAE solution for metal casting - PoligonSoft 2023.0. Having completed a testing phase, this version will start being distributed to users as part of technical support from October.
PoligonSoft 2023.0 includes updated solvers, a new version of the mesh generator, a data preparation module with a renewed interface, and a new macrostructure solver.
Users will receive an enhanced "Master" preprocessor with new editors, tools, and a ribbon interface. The updated program architecture continues to replace old code, and modules that have lost relevance are being substituted with new ones.
Specifically, in PoligonSoft 2023.0, the outdated material editor has been replaced, and the database of casting materials and alloys has been thoroughly revised and expanded. Now, the characteristics of all materials are managed in a single Material Properties editor, which has also undergone significant changes.

Users of PoligonSoft 2023.0 will have at their disposal a new "Euler" flow solver with more accurate models of flow and heat transfer, reducing the calculation time of filling by up to 6 times.
The updated and redesigned "Fourier" temperature and porosity solver features an improved heat transfer model and a new model for calculations with exothermic materials.
The "Heat Treatment" solver for steels, introduced in the previous version of PoligonSoft, is designed to predict the structure and mechanical properties of structural and low-alloy steels after heat treatment, such as quenching, normalizing, or annealing. In the new version, a tempering model has been added, as well as calculations of yield strength and relative elongation after heat treatment.

PoligonSoft 2023.0 also features a new "Macrostructure" solver with a model for the heterogeneous nucleation of grains both on the surface of the mold and in the volume of the melt. This solver is suitable for modeling the formation of the macrostructure of metallic alloys with body-centered or face-centered cubic grids in the solid state.
This is the first 2D version of the module for calculating the size and orientation of grains in a selected section of the casting, based on 3D thermal fields.
